Sunflower
At some moment Press Pause Ministries will begin to offer some different forms of expression regarding communion with God. We hope you will keep watching our web site, especially in the poetry and praise section for some of these expressions. For the time being though, here is a reflection on an aspect of nature to perhaps enjoy.
Sunflower
I watched the sunflower turned toward the sun
a satellite dish receiving the impulses of light and warmth.
It grew, receiving daily the fresh assault of brilliance and brightness.
It kept its face ever present, ever focused
on the life giving beams of sunlight.
It had begun that way, finding that force of light,
facing that force of light as only stock and bud.
But then it grew and remained always awaiting
the first rays of that sunshine,
receiving that light and warmth.
That light forever set its direction.
And the process of growth gave birth to the process of glory
reflected in the full faced flower,
lifted in heavenward worship and full of heaven blessed beauty.
Humanity, like the seed, is best served when it first finds
the light of sun and warmth of brilliance,
turning at its first breaking through to face the creator,
the light of the world,
and there with fixed and stable stock,
turned full face to the brilliance of God.
